Role Purpose
The Regional Lead – MEP Design is responsible for providing strategic, technical, and operational leadership for MEP design across interior fit‑out projects on a PAN‑India basis, with direct accountability for west region MEP delivery and PAN India mechanical design.
The role ensures design excellence, compliance, consistency, constructability, and cost efficiency within fast‑track Design & Build environments, while supporting business growth, client satisfaction, and team capability development.
Key Responsibilities
MEP Design Leadership & Governance
Lead end‑to‑end MEP design delivery (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire & Life Safety, ELV) for interior fit‑out projects across west region.
Lead Mechanical design across PAN India, ensuring consistent application of best‑in‑class solutions.
Establish, implement, and periodically update MEP design standards, guidelines, checklists, and standard details across the organization.
Review, validate, and approve critical MEP and mechanical design packages for all projects.
Own design outputs from concept to construction‑ready stage for D&B.
Design Excellence & Technical Quality
Ensure compliance with NBC, ECBC, IS Codes, ASHRAE, SMACNA, local development control regulations, and client‑specific standards.
Drive value engineering, capacity optimization, and life‑cycle cost efficiency while maintaining performance, safety, and compliance.
Promote constructible, coordinated, and execution‑friendly designs suitable for fast‑track interior build schedules.
Lead design resolution for technical challenges encountered during execution and authority approvals.
Regional Delivery & Project Support
Oversee MEP design outputs for allocated regions, ensuring timely delivery aligned with project milestones.
Act as the single point of escalation for MEP design‑related risks, delays, or coordination issues.
Work closely with construction, procurement, and commercial teams to align design intent with execution and cost strategy.
Support authority submissions, NOCs, inspections, and statutory approvals across states.
BIM‑Based Coordination & Design Quality
Drive MEP coordination using Revit and Navisworks for fit‑out projects.
Resolve clashes between HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire, and interior elements.
Ensure issue‑free, site‑ready drawings are released for construction.
Enforce internal design standards and review protocols.
Business & Pre‑Contract Involvement
Support pre‑contract / bid teams with design strategies, system selections, budgets, BOQs, and technical clarifications.
Participate in client presentations, technical workshops, and negotiations for key and strategic accounts.
Contribute to business differentiation by proposing innovative, energy‑efficient, and future‑ready MEP solutions.
People Leadership & Capability Building
Lead, mentor, and develop regional MEP teams and national mechanical design teams as assigned by organization.
Define role charters, performance expectations, and technical competency benchmarks.
Identify skill gaps and drive technical training, knowledge‑sharing forums, and leadership development initiatives.
Build succession capability for senior MEP and mechanical design roles.
Digital Enablement & Sustainability
Champion BIM‑led MEP design, coordination workflows, clash detection, and digital QA/QC processes.
Drive integration of energy‑efficient HVAC systems, indoor air quality (IAQ), and sustainability principles into design outcomes.
Align MEP design practices with ESG, client sustainability targets, and green building aspirations (LEED/WELL readiness) where applicable.

Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
12–16 years of experience in MEP design, with significant exposure to interior fit‑out Design & Build projects.
Minimum 8–10 years in design & build projects
Strong PAN‑India exposure with proven capability to work across diverse regulatory environments.
